Assay Information:
Immunoelectrophoresis showed a single precipitin arc against anti-Goat Serum, anti-Peroxidase, and purified GFP (Aequorea victoria).
No cross-reactivity observed with Human, Mouse, or Rat serum proteins.

Target Information

The jellyfish Aequorea victoria produces Green Fluorescent Protein (GFP), which emits green light (peak 508 nm) after absorbing blue light (395 nm). GFP is widely used as:

• A reporter protein for gene expression in both eukaryotic and prokaryotic systems
• A fusion tag to study protein localization and dynamics
• A tool for fluorescence-based assays such as FRET and yeast two-hybrid systems

GFP is a 27 kDa monomeric protein forming its fluorescent chromophore autocatalytically. Its fluorescence is stable, species-independent, and suitable for diverse biological research applications.
