Product Specific Information
Store vial at -20°C prior to opening. Aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below for extended storage. Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing. Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature.
This product is stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use.
Directed against mouse PPAR delta protein. A BLAST analysis suggests reactivity with this protein from mouse and rat sources based on 100% homology for the immunogen sequence.
Cross-reactivity with PPAR delta protein from human, chimpanzee, and rabbit may occur (85% homology). No reactivity is expected against other subtypes of PPAR.
Target Information
This gene encodes a member of the peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor (PPAR) family. PPARs are nuclear hormone receptors that bind peroxisome proliferators and control the size and number of peroxisomes produced by cells.
PPARs mediate a variety of biological processes and may be involved in the development of chronic diseases such as diabetes, obesity, atherosclerosis, and cancer.
This protein acts as an inhibitor of ligand-induced transcription activity of PPAR alpha and PPAR gamma, functioning as an integrator of transcription repression and nuclear receptor signaling.
Expression is elevated in colorectal cancer cells and can be repressed by adenomatosis polyposis coli (APC). Knockout studies in mice indicate roles in myelination of the corpus callosum, lipid metabolism, and epidermal cell proliferation.
For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Not for resale without express authorization.
