Target Information
CCR8 encodes a member of the beta chemokine receptor family, predicted to be a seven-transmembrane G protein-coupled receptor. Chemokines and their receptors regulate migration of immune cells to inflammatory sites.
This receptor is preferentially expressed in the thymus, and ligands include I-309, TARC, and MIP1β.
CCR8 is involved in monocyte chemotaxis, thymic cell apoptosis, and positioning of activated T cells in lymphoid tissues.
Expression is found in spleen, thymus, NK cells, monocytes, T cells, and at lower levels in peripheral blood leukocytes.
