Product Specific Information

MA5-17199 targets WHSC2 in indirect ELISA, FACS, ICC, IHC, IF, and WB applications and shows reactivity with Human and Rat samples.
The immunogen is a purified recombinant fragment of human WHSC2 (amino acids 280–511) expressed in E. coli.
MA5-17199 detects WHSC2 with a predicted molecular weight of approximately 57.3 kDa.

Target Information

The WHSC2 gene is ubiquitously expressed, with higher levels in fetal than adult tissues. It encodes a protein sharing 93% sequence identity with the mouse homolog.
Wolf-Hirschhorn syndrome (WHS) is associated with a hemizygous deletion of the distal short arm of chromosome 4. This gene maps to the 165 kb WHS critical region and may contribute to the WHS or Pitt-Rogers-Danks syndrome phenotype.
The encoded protein reacts with HLA-A2-restricted, tumor-specific cytotoxic T lymphocytes, suggesting potential use in cancer immunotherapy.
It is also a component of the NELF (negative elongation factor) complex involved in RNA polymerase II transcription regulation.
