Target Information
Transmembrane protein 123 (TMEM123) is a single-pass type I membrane protein belonging to the CD164 family. TMEM123 acts as a novel marker for dendritic cell (DC) maturation, which are professional antigen-presenting cells. It is reported that TMEM123 may be closely associated with cell surface expression of CD40 and may play a role in oncotic cell death, characterized by cell swelling, organelle swelling, vacuolization, increased membrane permeability, and cell adhesion.
