Product Specific Information
For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step using Zeba Spin Desalting Columns (7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).
Target Information
IL-6 encodes a cytokine involved in inflammation and B cell maturation. The protein acts as an endogenous pyrogen, inducing fever in autoimmune or infectious diseases.
It is primarily expressed at sites of acute and chronic inflammation, secreted into serum, and activates transcriptional inflammatory responses via the interleukin 6 receptor alpha.
IL-6 is implicated in multiple inflammation-associated diseases, including diabetes mellitus susceptibility, systemic juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, Kaposi sarcoma, and rheumatoid arthritis. Elevated IL-6 levels have been observed in viral infections such as COVID-19 (SARS-CoV-2).
