Product Specific Information

The eBio13A antibody reacts with mouse IL-13, a cytokine mainly produced by Th2 cells and antigen-primed CD8 T cells. IL-13 plays key roles in allergic inflammation, parasite clearance, and modulation of macrophage activity by reducing pro-inflammatory cytokines (IL-1, IL-6, IL-8, IL-10, IL-12).

• Recommended Use: ≤ 0.25 µg/test, titrate for optimal performance

Stability:
Conjugated antibodies are stable when samples are fixed with freshly prepared 2% formaldehyde overnight at 4°C.
Filtration: 0.2 µm post-manufacturing filtered.

Target Information

IL-13 is an immunoregulatory cytokine produced primarily by activated Th2 cells. It down-regulates macrophage activity and suppresses pro-inflammatory cytokine production. IL-13 is involved in allergen-induced asthma independent of IgE and eosinophils, and regulates B cell maturation and IgE isotype switching.
The IL13 gene is located on chromosome 5q within a cytokine gene cluster near IL4, IL3, IL5, and CSF2.
