이 폴리클로날 항체는 마우스 및 랫트 CXCL12 beta (SDF-1 beta)에 반응합니다. E. coli에서 발현된 마우스 CXCL12 beta의 N-말단 아미노산(20–93)을 면역원으로 사용하여 제작되었습니다.
CXCL12 beta는 pre-B-cell growth-stimulating factor (PBSF) 및 stromal cell-derived factor-beta (SDF-1 beta)로도 알려진 74 아미노산 길이의 CXC 케모카인으로, 골수 기질 세포주에서 최초로 클로닝되었습니다.
CXCL12 유전자의 결실은 마우스에서 B세포 림포포이에시스 및 골수 조혈 장애를 유발하며, 림프구에 대한 화학주성(chemotaxis)을 나타냅니다. 또한 CXCL12는 HIV-1의 T세포 침입 보조수용체인 CXCR4 (LESTR/fusin)의 리간드로 알려져 있으며, CXCL12의 CXCR4 결합은 HIV-1 침입을 억제합니다.
