E. coli 유래 lacZ 유전자는 동물 세포 내 재조합 유전자 발현을 검출하기 위한 중요한 리포터 유전자입니다. 효소학적 검출이 어려운 경우, anti-beta-galactosidase 항체는 널리 사용됩니다. 또한, 이 항체는 면역침전(immunoprecipitation)이나 면역흡착(immunoadsorption)을 통한 융합 단백질 정제에도 활용됩니다.
빛 현미경 수준의 lacZ 유전자 전달 평가에도 적합하며, beta-galactosidase/anti-beta-galactosidase 복합체는 고압 면역탈착 공정 연구 모델로 사용된 바 있습니다.

Target Information
Beta Galactosidase 단백질은 glycosyl hydrolase 35 패밀리에 속하며, 대체 스플라이싱으로 인해 여러 전사 변이체를 생성합니다. 일부 변이체는 전구 단백질(preproprotein) 형태로 생성되어 성숙 효소로 가공됩니다.
이 효소는 ganglioside 및 기타 glycoconjugate 기질에서 말단 β-결합 갈락토스 잔기를 가수분해합니다.
