Product Specific Information
After receipt, store lyophilized product at -20°C and at -70°C after reconstitution in sterile distilled water to retain full activity.
After reconstitution, aliquot into separate tubes to minimize freeze-thaw cycles.
Stable for at least four weeks at 4°C after thawing.
Further dilution should be performed in buffers containing protein (e.g., 0.1% bovine serum albumin, BSA).
Target Information
Type I Interferons (IFN-alpha/beta) are produced primarily in response to viral infection by Natural IFN-producing cells (IPCs) as part of the host immune response.
They can inhibit tumor development and activate tyrosine kinases Jak1 and Tyk2, leading to phosphorylation of STAT transcription factors and immune gene expression.
TLR family members also stimulate IFN-beta production.
Clinically, IFN-beta is used in the treatment of tumors, infections, and multiple sclerosis.
