Product Specific Information

The SK7 monoclonal antibody reacts with human and chimpanzee CD3e, a 20 kDa subunit of the TCR complex. The epsilon chain is required for proper assembly, trafficking, and surface expression of the TCR complex. CD3 is expressed by thymocytes in a developmentally regulated manner and by all mature T cells.

• SK7 and UCHT1 clones cross-block binding (overlapping epitopes)
• OKT3 and SK7 recognize different epitopes

Fluorochrome Information:
PerCP-eFluor® 710 emits at 710 nm, excited with the 488 nm blue laser. Recommended filter: 710/50 bandpass (695/40 acceptable alternative).

Fixation and Storage:
Samples can be stored in IC Fixation Buffer (Product #00-8222) or 1-Step Fix/Lyse Solution (Product #00-5333) for up to 3 days at 4°C in the dark with minimal impact on brightness.

Target Information

The CD3 subunit complex transduces antigen-recognition signals into the cytoplasm of T cells and regulates TCR surface expression. It includes CD3 gamma, delta, epsilon, and zeta subunits encoded on chromosome 11.

• Involved in T cell activation, growth arrest, and proliferation
• Expressed on 68–82% of peripheral blood lymphocytes and 65–85% of thymocytes
• Not expressed on B or NK cells
• Defects in CD3 genes are associated with CD3 immunodeficiency
