Target Information
NME4 is a protein kinase involved in transferring phosphate groups from ATP to substrate proteins. This process is essential for signal transduction in eukaryotic cells, influencing metabolism, transcription, cell cycle progression, cytoskeletal rearrangement, cell movement, apoptosis, and differentiation.
The protein kinase family comprises over 500 gene products and is divided into eight major groups based on catalytic domain sequence comparison. The AGC kinase group includes 63 kinases such as PKA, PKG, PKC, RAC/Akt, ARK, and RSK families.
