Target Information
The Toll-like receptor (TLR) family in mammals comprises transmembrane proteins with multiple leucine-rich repeats in the extracellular domain and an IL-1 receptor motif in the cytoplasmic domain. TLRs signal through adaptor molecules and mediate innate immunity essential for microbial recognition.
TLR12 shows distinct expression in macrophages and epithelial cells of liver, kidney, and bladder, and does not respond to known TLR ligands.
