Product Specific Information

eBioTY/11.8 recognizes CD73, a 69-kDa GPI-anchored cell-surface protein with ecto-5'-nucleotidase activity. In mice, expression on myeloid cells (CD11b) is restricted to the bone marrow. In humans, CD73 can be induced to secrete a soluble form with IL-2, suggesting a role in activation signaling. CD73 expression varies between species and is found on subsets of lymphocytes, increasing during maturation. It is also expressed on regulatory T cells.

Each product contains:

Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis
Applications Tested: Mouse splenocytes at ≤0.125 µg/test (100 µL final volume). Recommended careful titration for optimal performance.

Compatibility Notes:
NovaFluor dyes are not compatible with DNA intercalating viability dyes (e.g., propidium iodide, 7-AAD, DAPI). Use Invitrogen LIVE/DEAD Fixable Dead Cell stains instead.

CellBlox Plus Blocking Buffer Usage:
Use 5 µL per sample (regardless of panel size). For single-color controls, use 5 µL per 100 µL cell sample (10³–10⁸ cells).

Target Information

CD73 (Ecto-5'-nucleotidase) catalyzes conversion of purine 5'-mononucleotides to nucleosides, primarily AMP. It is a dimer of two 70 kDa subunits anchored via GPI linkage. CD73 serves as a marker for lymphocyte differentiation; deficiency is linked to immunodeficiency diseases. The CD73 gene is localized to 6q14–q21. Mutations may cause joint and arterial calcification or intestinal tuberculosis. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms are known.
