Target Information
Tetranectin (TN) is a serum and tissue protein belonging to the C-type lectin family that binds to Ca++. It forms a homotrimer of 20 kDa monomers. Plasma or serum concentrations of TN are approximately 10 mg/L. In vitro, TN binds to kringle 4 of plasminogen and enhances its activation to plasmin by tissue plasminogen activator in the presence of poly-D-lysine. TN is recognized as a prognostic marker in ovarian cancer.
