- This antibody has specificity for Human KNG1/Kininogen 1.
Target Information
Kininogen 1 gene generates two proteins via alternative splicing:
- High molecular weight kininogen (HMWK): Essential for blood coagulation and assembly of the kallikrein–kinin system. Bradykinin, a peptide with multiple physiological effects, is released from HMWK.
- Low molecular weight kininogen (LMWK): Not involved in blood coagulation.
Three transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified for this gene.
