Preparation:
Produced from sera of rabbits immunized with highly pure Recombinant Human FGF-17. The anti-Human FGF-17 antibody was purified by affinity chromatography using an immobilized Human FGF-17 matrix.

Sandwich ELISA:
To detect Human FGF-17 by sandwich ELISA (using 100 µL/well antibody solution), a concentration of 0.5–2.0 µg/mL is required. When used with PeproTech Biotinylated Anti-Human FGF-17 (500-P152Bt) as a detection antibody, it allows detection of at least 0.2–0.4 ng/well of Recombinant Human FGF-17.

Western Blot:
For Human FGF-17 detection by Western Blot analysis, use at 0.1–0.2 µg/mL. In conjunction with compatible secondary reagents, the detection limit for Recombinant Human FGF-17 is 1.5–3.0 ng/lane under reducing or non-reducing conditions.

Target Information

The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the fibroblast growth factor (FGF) family. FGF family members have broad mitogenic and cell survival activities and are involved in various biological processes including embryonic development, cell growth, morphogenesis, tissue repair, tumor growth, and invasion. This gene is prominently expressed in the cerebellum and cortex. The mouse homolog is localized to midline structures of the forebrain, midbrain-hindbrain junction, developing skeleton, and arteries, suggesting roles in CNS, bone, and vascular development. Although once referred to as FGF-13, its amino acid sequence and chromosomal localization are identical to FGF17.
