Preparation:
Produced from sera of goats immunized with highly pure Recombinant Human FGF-17. Anti-Human FGF-17-specific antibody was purified by affinity chromatography employing an immobilized Human FGF-17 matrix.

Sandwich ELISA:
To detect Human FGF-17 by sandwich ELISA (using 100 µL/well antibody solution), a concentration of 0.5–2.0 µg/mL is required. This antigen affinity purified antibody, in conjunction with PeproTech Biotinylated Anti-Human FGF-17 (500-P152GBt) as a detection antibody, allows the detection of at least 0.2–0.4 ng/well of Recombinant Human FGF-17.

Western Blot:
To detect Human FGF-17 by Western Blot analysis, this antibody can be used at a concentration of 0.1–0.2 µg/mL. Used with compatible secondary reagents, the detection limit for Recombinant Human FGF-17 is 1.5–3.0 ng/lane under either reducing or non-reducing conditions.

Target Information

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the fibroblast growth factor (FGF) family. FGF family members possess broad mitogenic and cell survival activities, and are involved in various biological processes including embryonic development, cell growth, morphogenesis, tissue repair, tumor growth, and invasion.
FGF17 is prominently expressed in the cerebellum and cortex. The mouse homolog localizes to midline structures of the forebrain, midbrain-hindbrain junction, developing skeleton, and arteries, suggesting roles in CNS, bone, and vascular development.
This gene was previously referred to as FGF-13, but its amino acid sequence and chromosomal localization are identical to FGF17.
