Target Information
The UHRF2 gene encodes a nuclear protein involved in cell-cycle regulation. The encoded protein functions as a ubiquitin-ligase that ubiquinates PCNP (PEST-containing nuclear protein), potentially contributing to tumorigenesis.
It contains multiple functional domains including NIRF_N, PHD finger, SRA, and RING finger domains, which are essential for cell proliferation regulation and intranuclear degradation of polyglutamine aggregates.
Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants, some of which are non-protein coding.
