Target Information
Fox-3, also known as NEUN, HRNBP3, or RBFOX3 (RNA binding protein, fox-1 homolog C), is a 350 amino acid protein containing one RRM (RNA recognition motif) domain. It is localized to both the nucleus and cytoplasm and is suggested to regulate alternative splicing events.
The Fox-3 gene is located on human chromosome 17, which encodes over 1,200 genes and includes key tumor suppressor genes such as p53 and BRCA1.
- p53: Maintains genetic integrity through DNA repair and apoptosis regulation.
- BRCA1: Involved in DNA repair and linked to early-onset breast and ovarian cancers.
