Product Specific Information

This antibody is predicted to react with canine, bovine, chicken, human, mouse, and non-human primate based on 100% sequence homology.
PA5-35387 is specific for the ~29 kDa AQP2 protein phosphorylated at Ser264 and also recognizes the glycosylated form of AQP2 at ~37 kDa.
This antibody contains enough material to conduct approximately 10 mini-Western blots.

Target Information

Aquaporin 2 (AQP2) is a hormonally regulated water channel located in the renal collecting duct.
Mutations in the AQP2 gene cause hereditary nephrogenic diabetes insipidus in humans.
A vasopressin-induced cAMP increase results in the phosphorylation of AQP2 at serine-256 and its translocation from intracellular vesicles to the apical membrane of principal cells.
Serine-261 has also been identified as a novel phosphorylation site on AQP2, with phosphorylated S261 levels decreasing upon vasopressin treatment, suggesting its involvement in vasopressin-dependent AQP2 trafficking.
