Target Information
This gene encodes a member of the F-box protein family characterized by an approximately 40 amino acid motif, the F-box. F-box proteins are subunits of the SCF ubiquitin protein ligase complex, functioning in phosphorylation-dependent ubiquitination.
FBXO32 belongs to the Fbxs class and contains an F-box domain. It is highly expressed during muscle atrophy, and mice deficient in this gene are resistant to atrophy, making it a potential drug target for muscle atrophy treatment.
Alternative splicing results in two transcript variants encoding isoforms of different sizes.
