Product Specific Information
- 100% identical in rat and mouse.
- 1 µg/mL of MA5-45634 detects GFAP R416WT in 20 µg rat brain lysate by colorimetric immunoblot using Goat anti-mouse IgG:HRP as secondary antibody.
- Detects ~50 kDa band.
- Does not cross-react with GFAP-R416W or other proteins (based on KO validation).
- Formerly sold as clone S206B-9.
Target Information
GFAP (Glial fibrillary acidic protein)은 class III intermediate filament 단백질 패밀리에 속하며, 주로 중추신경계의 성상교세포(astrocyte) 및 특정 신경아교세포에서 발현됩니다.
GFAP 항체는 astrocytic 세포의 마커로 널리 사용되며, 다양한 뇌종양 연구에 유용합니다.
또한 GFAP는 렌즈 상피, 간의 Kupffer 세포, 일부 타액선 종양 세포 및 적혈구에서도 보고되었습니다.
GFAP 유전자의 변이는 Alexander disease를 유발하며, 대체 스플라이싱으로 여러 이소폼을 생성합니다.
