Target Information
The Golgi apparatus participates in glycosylation and transport of proteins and lipids in the secretory pathway, consisting of stacked cisternae (flattened membrane sacs).
Interactions between the Golgi and microtubules are important for reorganization after mitotic fragmentation.
This gene encodes one of the golgins, localized to the Golgi, and plays roles in stacking of Golgi cisternae and vesicular transport.
Several alternatively spliced transcript variants have been described, though full-length sequences remain undetermined.
