Product Specific Information
This antibody detects both the pro and mature forms of human Relaxin-2 in direct ELISAs and Western blots.
No cross-reactivity is observed with recombinant human Relaxin-1 or Relaxin-3.
Reconstitute at 0.5 mg/mL in sterile PBS.
Endotoxin level is <0.10 EU per 1 µg of antibody (LAL method).
Target Information
Relaxin 1 (also known as Relaxin or RLXH1) is a peptide hormone produced by the corpora lutea of the ovary during pregnancy in many mammalian species, including humans. It softens and lengthens the pubic symphysis and cervix before parturition, facilitating birth.
Relaxin 1 and Relaxin 2 consist of two peptide chains (A and B) linked by disulfide bonds and synthesized as a single-chain precursor.
The gene encoding human Relaxin 1 maps to chromosome 9, and Relaxin 2, a related protein expressed in the ovary during pregnancy, also maps to chromosome 9.
