Product Specific Information
- PA1-988 detects GAPDH in human HeLa cell lysates and in mouse and rat tissues.

Target Information
GAPDH (Glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase)는 해당과정(glycolysis)에 관여하는 촉매 효소로, 37 kDa의 동일한 소단위체 4개로 이루어진 테트라머 형태입니다.
이 효소는 NADPH 존재하에 1,3-bisphosphoglycerate를 glyceraldehyde 3-phosphate로 환원시키는 반응을 촉매합니다.
GAPDH는 해당과정 외에도 DNA 복제, 수리, RNA 수출, 세포막 융합, 미세소관 결합 등 다양한 세포 기능에 관여합니다.
또한, 세포사멸(apoptosis) 및 노화 관련 신경퇴행성 질환에서의 유전자 발현 조절에도 중요한 역할을 하는 것으로 알려져 있습니다.
GAPDH는 Alzheimer’s disease 관련 단백질(APP) 및 Huntington’s disease 관련 Huntingtin 단백질과도 결합하는 것으로 보고되었습니다.
높은 발현 수준으로 인해 Western blot에서 단백질 로딩 컨트롤로 널리 사용됩니다.
