Target Information
TDE1 (Tumor Differentiated Expressed Protein 1) is a multi-pass membrane protein also known as Serine Incorporator 3.
It is localized on Golgi membranes and is highly expressed in neuronal populations, thymus, kidney, liver, and testis.
TDE1 expression is significantly elevated in tumor tissues compared to normal tissues, suggesting its role in oncogenesis by protecting cells from apoptosis induced by serum starvation or etoposide.
The exact protective mechanism remains unclear but may involve aberrant methylation of TDE1 complexes.
