Cross-reactivity is expected with human, mouse, and rat based on sequence identity of the peptide immunogen.
This antibody does not react with the MEK1 isoform.
Target Information
MAP2K2 (MEK2) is a dual specificity serine/threonine kinase involved in mitogen growth factor signal transduction.
MEK2 (MAPKK2) activates ERK1/2 and MAPK enzymes by phosphorylating residues within the TEY motif of the activation loop.
MEK1 and MEK2 are activated by dual phosphorylation at serine 218 and 222.
Threonine 292 of MEK1 is phosphorylated by ERK2, serving as a negative feedback mechanism suppressing MEK1 activation.
