Target Information
Pyrophosphatase that hydrolyzes non-canonical purine nucleotides such as inosine triphosphate (ITP), deoxyinosine triphosphate (dITP), 2'-deoxy-N-6-hydroxylaminopurine triphosphate (dHAPTP), and xanthosine 5'-triphosphate (XTP) to their respective monophosphate derivatives.
This enzyme does not distinguish between deoxy- and ribose forms and likely excludes non-canonical purines from RNA and DNA precursor pools, preventing their incorporation and avoiding chromosomal lesions.
