Target Information
Bruton tyrosine kinase (BTK) is a cytoplasmic tyrosine kinase belonging to the SRC-related TEC subfamily. Mutations in the BTK gene are associated with severe developmental blocks in human B-cell ontogeny and immunodeficiency disorders. BTK interacts with toll-like receptor (TLR) family members including TLR4, 6, 8, and 9, which are key components of innate and adaptive immunity. It has also been shown to interact with MyD88, TIRAP, and IRAK, but not TRAF-6, suggesting a role in lipopolysaccharide signal transduction.
