Target Information
LC3B (Autophagy Marker Light Chain 3B, MAP1A/MAP1B LC3 B) is encoded by the gene MAP1LC3B in humans. LC3B is associated with microtubule assembly and plays an important role in neurogenesis and autophagy.
During autophagy, LC3B contributes to the formation of autophagosomes that mediate degradation of cytoplasmic constituents. It is involved in processes related to cancer, aging, metabolic, neurodegenerative, and cardiovascular/pulmonary diseases.
