Target Information
Nuclear factor kB p65 (NF-κB p65) is encoded by the RELA gene located on chromosome 11 in humans. It is also known as RelA and belongs to the Rel family of transcription factors. NF-κB p65 forms a heterodimer with p50 or p52 subunits and plays a critical role in regulating immune and inflammatory responses. Upon TNF-alpha stimulation, IKK phosphorylates IκB, leading to its degradation and allowing NF-κB p65 to translocate to the nucleus, where it activates transcription of target genes such as immunoglobulin kappa in mature B-lymphoid cells.
