Target Information
MAP2K4 (MEK4) is a serine/threonine kinase belonging to the STE7 family. It phosphorylates and activates JNK1/2 and p38 MAP kinases, preferentially targeting tyrosine residues of JNKs. MAP2K4 plays a key role in cellular stress responses and inflammation and is implicated in carcinogenesis. Loss-of-function mutations have been found in lung and pancreatic tumors, while pro-oncogenic roles have also been reported.
