Product Specific Information
For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to obtain a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step (recommended: Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).
Target Information
hCG beta is the beta chain of human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG), a 40 kDa glycoprotein hormone produced by trophoblastic cells of the placenta starting 10–12 days after conception.
hCG consists of alpha and beta subunits that are non-covalently associated. The alpha subunit is similar to those of FSH, LH, and TSH, while the beta subunit confers biological specificity.
hCG maintains the corpus luteum during early pregnancy, stimulating progesterone production necessary for endometrial maintenance.
Diseases associated with hCG dysfunction include gestational trophoblastic tumor and hydatidiform mole.
