Target Information
The S100A11 protein belongs to the S100 family of calcium-binding proteins containing two EF-hand motifs. These proteins are localized in the cytoplasm and/or nucleus of various cells and are involved in regulating cellular processes such as cell cycle progression and differentiation.
S100 genes are clustered on chromosome 1q21 and include at least 13 members.
S100A11 may function in motility, invasion, and tubulin polymerization. Chromosomal rearrangements and altered expression have been implicated in tumor metastasis.
