Product Specific Information

  • For immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed): Incubate antibody for 30 min at room temperature.
  • Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA (pH 9.0) for 45 min at 95°C, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 min.

Target Information

The leptin (OB-R) receptor is a member of the cytokine receptor superfamily involved in mammalian body weight homeostasis and energy balance. Activation by leptin triggers downstream signaling via the JAK/STAT pathway. Multiple isoforms differing in signaling capacity exist. Long-form OB-R transcripts are found in the choroid plexus and hypothalamus, key regions for satiety and energy regulation. Mutations in OB-R (db) or leptin (ob) genes cause early-onset obesity and metabolic abnormalities such as hyperinsulinemia, insulin resistance, and increased adipose tissue.
