Target Information
Galectin-1 belongs to a large family of carbohydrate-binding proteins called lectins. It can exist as a monomer or homodimer and is expressed in various cells and tissues. Galectin-1 regulates cell growth and proliferation, induces apoptosis of activated T cells, and modulates cytokine secretion. It plays a key role in acute and chronic inflammation.
