Target Information
JunD is a transcription factor encoded by the JunD gene. Its transcriptional activity is modulated by phosphorylation in response to cellular stress via the JNK/SAPK family of protein kinases. Jun proteins can form dimers with Fos, ATF, and CREB family transcription factors to form the AP-1 complex, which regulates genes involved in cell growth, proliferation, differentiation, and apoptosis. Additionally, JunD plays an important role in metabolism by modulating the IGF-1 signaling pathway.
