Product Specific Information

The Btjce monoclonal antibody reacts with transcription factor Sox2, a member of the SOX (sex determining region Y-related HMG Box) family. Sox2 is essential for regulating genes controlling mammalian embryogenesis and maintaining pluripotency in embryonic stem cells. It is expressed in early neurogenesis and neural stem cells, suppressing differentiation.

Applications Reported: Suitable for intracellular staining followed by flow cytometric analysis and immunocytochemistry.
Applications Tested: Tested by ICC of fixed and permeabilized F9 cells (≤10 µg/mL). Also tested by intracellular staining and flow cytometry using the Foxp3/Transcription Factor Buffer and protocol (≤0.125 µg/test).

eFluor® 660 is a replacement for Alexa Fluor® 647, emitting at 659 nm and excited by a red laser (633 nm).
Excitation: 633–647 nm; Emission: 668 nm; Laser: Red Laser.
Filtration: 0.2 µm post-manufacturing filtered.
Expression: Bacterial expression of region after aa135.


Target Information

SOX2 is an intronless gene encoding a transcription factor involved in embryonic development and cell fate determination. It is critical for stem-cell maintenance in the central nervous system and regulates gene expression in the stomach. Mutations in SOX2 are associated with bilateral anophthalmia and optic nerve hypoplasia.
