This antibody detects endogenous levels of total MYO1A.

Target Information

The MYO1A gene encodes a member of the myosin superfamily, molecular motors that interact with actin filaments and utilize ATP hydrolysis to generate mechanical force.
Each myosin has a conserved N-terminal motor domain for ATP and actin binding, followed by a light-chain-binding neck region containing IQ motifs that bind calmodulin or EF-hand calcium-binding proteins.
The C-terminal tail domain varies among classes, mediating dimerization, membrane or protein binding, and targeting to specific subcellular locations.
In kidney epithelial cells (LLC-PK1-CL4), MYO1A localizes to the brush border, where it dynamically interacts with actin and membrane components.
