Product Specific Information
This antibody detects endogenous levels of IRS1 only when phosphorylated at Ser1101.
Target Information
IRS-1 is a major substrate of the insulin receptor and becomes phosphorylated in response to stimulation by insulin, insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1), and interleukin 4 (IL-4). It undergoes phosphorylation on serine, threonine, and tyrosine residues across various tissues. Casein kinase II mediates part of the insulin-stimulated phosphorylation of IRS-1, with Thr502 and Ser99 identified as major phosphorylation sites. IRS-1 contains three putative 14-3-3 binding sites (Ser270, Ser374, Ser641), with the Ser270 motif located in the phosphotyrosine binding domain responsible for insulin receptor interaction.
