Product Specific Information
This antibody detects endogenous levels of OPRM1 only when phosphorylated at Ser377, which site has been historically referenced as Ser375.
Target Information
The OPRM1 gene encodes the mu opioid receptor, which is the primary site of action for commonly used opioids such as morphine, heroin, fentanyl, and methadone. It also serves as the main receptor for endogenous opioid peptides including beta-endorphin and enkephalins. The OPRM1 receptor is a member of the G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) family. There are at least three types of opioid receptors—mu, kappa, and delta—each with distinct pharmacologic profiles.
