Target Information
GLI3 encodes a C2H2-type zinc finger protein belonging to the Gli family, functioning as a DNA-binding transcription factor and mediator of Sonic hedgehog (Shh) signaling. The protein localizes in the cytoplasm and activates PTCH gene expression. It also plays a crucial role during embryogenesis. Mutations in this gene are associated with Greig cephalopolysyndactyly syndrome, Pallister-Hall syndrome, preaxial polydactyly type IV, and postaxial polydactyly types A1 and B.
