Product Specific Information
This antibody specifically recognizes FMO in Oryza sativa subspecies japonica (Rice).
Target Information
FMOs are a subfamily of class B external flavoprotein monooxygenases (EC 1.14.13), which belong to the family of monooxygenase oxidoreductases, along with Baeyer-Villiger monooxygenases and microbial N-hydroxylating monooxygenases.
FMO proteins are found in fungi, yeast, plants, mammals, and bacteria. In plants, FMOs play roles in pathogen defense and catalyze specific steps in the biosynthesis of auxin, a plant hormone. They also participate in the metabolism of glucosinolates. These non-xenobiotic roles suggest that additional FMO functions may exist in non-plant organisms.
