Product Specific Information
The eBioSY11B5 monoclonal antibody recognizes human CD157 (Mo5, BST-1). CD157 is a 42–45 kDa GPI-anchored protein structurally and functionally similar to CD38. Initially identified on monocytes and macrophages, it was later found to be identical to BST-1, expressed on bone marrow stromal cells and capable of stimulating pre-B cell proliferation.
CD157 acts as both enzyme and receptor, involved in NAD⁺ metabolism and regulation of intracellular Ca²⁺ levels. Upon ligand binding, it triggers phosphorylation of cytoplasmic proteins such as focal adhesion kinase (FAK). The detailed mechanism of CD157-mediated signaling remains under investigation.
Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis
Applications Tested: Pre-diluted and tested on normal human peripheral blood cells at 5 µL (0.25 µg) per test (100 µL final volume). Cell number range: 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test.
Super Bright 436 is excited by the violet laser (405 nm) and emits at 436 nm. Use a 450/50 bandpass filter or equivalent. Ensure instrument compatibility.
When using multiple Super Bright dye-conjugated antibodies, use Super Bright Complete Staining Buffer (Product # SB-4401) to minimize non-specific polymer interactions.

Target Information
Bone marrow stromal cell antigen 1 (BST1) is a GPI-anchored molecule facilitating pre-B cell growth. Also known as ADP-ribosyl cyclase 2 and DAMP-1, it is encoded by the BST1 gene in humans. Expression is increased in bone marrow stromal cells from rheumatoid arthritis patients, potentially contributing to B cell abnormalities associated with the disease.
