Product Specific Information

The CEW33D monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD183 (CXCR3), a G protein-coupled chemokine receptor that binds CXCL9 (MIG), CXCL10 (IP-10), and CXCL11 (I-TAC). CD183 is associated with type 1 immunity and is expressed in activated T cells, Th1 cells, CD8 effector cells, NK cells, and NKT cells. It mediates infiltration of inflamed tissues in normal immune responses and inflammatory diseases. CD183 is also found on some B cells and plasmacytoid dendritic cells.

Applications Tested: Pre-titrated and validated for flow cytometry using normal human peripheral blood cells.
Use at 5 µL (0.25 µg) per test. A test is defined as the amount of antibody to stain cells in 100 µL final volume, typically 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test.

Target Information

This gene encodes a G protein-coupled receptor that selectively binds chemokines IP-10, Mig, and I-TAC. These ligands belong to the CXC chemokine family, which mediate leukocyte trafficking, integrin activation, cytoskeletal rearrangements, and chemotaxis. CD183 signaling involves Gi-class G proteins and may share pathways with other chemokine receptors. The receptor undergoes phosphorylation-dependent internalization and recycling, leading to transient cellular responses. CD183 is expressed in effector/memory T cells and inflamed tissues, implicating it in inflammatory cell recruitment. It is a potential target for small-molecule antagonists in inflammatory disease treatment. Multiple transcript variants exist.
