This antibody detects endogenous levels of total Adrenomedullin (ADM).
Target Information
Adrenomedullin (ADM) is a vasodilator produced by most contractile cells and is characterized by persistent hypotensive activity. It plays a role in regulating fluid and electrolyte balance and maintaining cardiovascular function. In hypertensive patients, plasma ADM levels are elevated. ADM exhibits strong natriuretic actions by increasing glomerular filtration rate and decreasing distal tubular sodium reabsorption. It is present both in the periphery and brain, where it can also influence appetite regulation.
