This antibody detects endogenous levels of total GNRHR.

Target Information

This gene encodes the receptor for type 1 gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH). It belongs to the seven-transmembrane, G-protein coupled receptor (GPCR) family. The receptor is expressed on pituitary gonadotrope cells, lymphocytes, breast, ovary, and prostate. Upon GnRH binding, it activates a phosphatidylinositol-calcium second messenger system, leading to the release of luteinizing hormone (LH) and follicle stimulating hormone (FSH). Mutations in this gene may cause hypogonadotropic hypogonadism (HH). Multiple transcript variants and isoforms are known.
