Product Specific Information

The monoclonal antibody A1exF5 recognizes both human and mouse Arginase 1 (Arg1), a cytosolic enzyme.
This clone is compatible with standard intracellular staining protocols and the Foxp3/Transcription Factor Staining Buffer Set.

• Applications Tested: Tested by flow cytometric analysis of normal human peripheral blood cells using the Intracellular Fixation & Permeabilization Buffer Set (Product # 88-8824-00)
• Recommended protocol: BestProtocols® – Protocol A: Two-step protocol for cytoplasmic intracellular proteins

Use ≤ 1.0 µg per test (100 µL final volume). Cell number can range from 10⁵ to 10⁸ cells/test. Antibody titration is recommended for optimal performance.

eFluor™ 450 is an alternative to Pacific Blue™.

Target Information

Arginase-1 (Arg1) is a 35 kDa enzyme converting L-arginine to urea and L-ornithine, the final step in the urea cycle.
It plays a role in cell proliferation and detoxification. By degrading arginine, Arginase 1 down-regulates nitric oxide production.

• Expression: Liver, neutrophils, myeloid-derived suppressor cells (MDSC), neural stem cells
• Human: Expressed in blood neutrophils but not CCR3+ granulocytes
• Mouse: Marker of alternatively activated macrophages (M2a)
• Clinical relevance: Found in hepatocellular carcinoma and myeloid tumor-infiltrating cells
• Defects: Cause of argininemia (autosomal recessive disorder with hyperammonemia)
