Product Specific Information
The eBioH4A3 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD107a (LAMP-1), a highly glycosylated lysosomal membrane protein (~110 kDa). It is mainly expressed intracellularly but transiently appears on the surface of degranulating cytolytic T cells, activated platelets, and certain cancer cells.
Applications Reported: Suitable for intracellular staining and flow cytometric analysis.
Applications Tested: Pre-titrated and validated for intracellular staining and flow cytometry using Jurkat cells at 5 µL (0.125 µg) per test.
A test corresponds to staining a sample in a final volume of 100 µL, with cell numbers ranging from 10⁵ to 10⁸ per test.

Target Information
LAMP1 (CD107a) is a major lysosomal membrane component, with 1–2% found on the plasma membrane. It is a heavily glycosylated type I integral membrane protein involved in lysosome biogenesis and fusion with phagosomes. The protein’s trafficking depends on a C-terminal tyrosine motif (YXXI). Mutations affecting this motif alter lysosomal localization.
Cell surface LAMP1 promotes adhesion of PBMCs to vascular endothelium, suggesting a role in inflammation. Increased LAMP1 expression is observed around senile plaques in Alzheimer’s disease and in activated immune cells. LAMP1 is a useful marker for mast cell activation.
